Targeted Assessment Specialist

Job Summary
The UK Targeted Assessment Program (TAP) identifies and addresses barriers to self-sufficiency and safety among Department for Community Based Services (DCBS) clients.
The Targeted Assessment Specialist (TAS), will be a UK employee but will be co-housed at a DCBS office in Owensboro, KY to: 1) conduct assessment interviews with DCBS clients in the areas of mental health, substance use, partner victimization, and learning problems; 2) provide pre-treatment and case coordination services; 3) facilitate referrals to appropriate services/agencies, and 4) provide follow-up services. The TAS will also serve Daviess County as needed.
The TAS provides consultation and training and is responsible for effective collaboration with multiple service systems.
The TAS is responsible for documentation, reports, and entry of information into the program's data base.
TAP is funded by the KY Cabinet for Health and Family Services with Temporary Assistance to Needy Families funds through a contract with UK.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Experience in assessment, counseling, and case management; basic computer skills such as MS Word and Excel; written and verbal communication; diplomacy.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience
Master's degree plus 3 years of experience in a human service field such as social work or counseling or equivalent.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
